Sanford L. Drob is a Core Faculty Member in the Clinical Psychology doctorate program of Fielding Graduate University where he serves as the Director of the Forensic Psychology Concentration, teaches humanistic psychology and psychological assessment and supervises Fielding students who reside and/or are in clinical placements in the New York area. Dr. Drob maintains a practice in clinical and forensic psychology in New York City, and for many years served as the Senior Forensic Psychologist and Director of Psychological Assessment at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. He holds doctorate degrees in Philosophy from Boston University and in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University.

Dr. Drob has a long-standing interest in the psychological, social and existential roots of criminality, and is known for his work with both violent and non-violent offenders on Bellevue’s Psychiatric Prison Ward (where he was Senior Psychologist from1984-2003) and throughout the criminal justice system. He specializes in the psychological assessment of individuals who are involved in criminal and civil legal matters.
In addition to his work at Fielding and as a practicing clinical and forensic psychologist, Dr. Drob continues to teach and publish in the areas philosophical psychology, the philosophy and psychology of religion, and the psychology of C. G. Jung. His most recent books: Reading the Red Book: An Interpretive Guide to C. G. Jung’s Liber Novus and Kabbalistic Visions: C. G. Jung and Jewish Mysticism are available from Spring Journal Books, Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. Dr. Drob is currently completing a book on the significance of dialectical complementarity in the history of mysticism, philosophy and psychology (dialectics in psychology), and a series of papers on the role of values in psychological theory and practice.
